Situation
Our client, a lawyer, approached us concerning a heritage dispute between family members. His client was suspecting his sibling to have forged their father’s will in his favour, as he noticed that the handwriting was unusual.
Our mission was to analyse the evidence and give an expert’s opinion on the matter.

Our Solution
Our team developed a three-step approach to solve the issue:

1- Material Gathering
It is crucial, especially in these types of cases where the document is hand-written, to be able to gather as much material as possible to use as reference.

2- Technical Analysis
Using our expertise and examination techniques on both types of documents (questioned and reference), a technical analysis was conducted to examine different aspects of the document: the handwriting, the nature of the ink, latent indentations...

3- Results Interpretation and Conclusion
The technical analyses lead to the authentication of the document, which proved that the will was written with a genuine handwriting that was influenced by the illness of the father.
